The cast of the BBC One soap performed a medley of musical hits including songs from My Fair Lady, Mary Poppins and Oliver! for the TV fundraiser.
And Shona, who plays Whitney Dean in the soap, sent jaws-dropping up and down the UK as she belted out a solo number from Les Miserables.
Making her way round Albert Square, 26-year-old sounded phenomenal as she sang On My Own from the world-wide musical.
Those watching the skit were completely blown away by her amazing performance and the rest of the EastEnders cast’s hidden talents.
One person said on Twitter: “When’s #whitney releasing an album? I need to hear her sing again I do think #eastenders should do a one night special of songs and dance I would watch it. #ChildrenInNeed.”
“Well alright now @ShonaBM! Angel voice or what #Eastenders,” commented a fan, while a third added: “Shona McGarty is unbelievably talented!”
One person also commented on Jacqueline Jossa’s (plays Lauren Branning) mesmerising vocals as well as Shona as they wrote: “Wow! Eastenders are actually really good. Shona and Jacqueline are brilliant.”
Another memorable segment on the night saw the return of The Weakest Link, hosted by Anne Robinson.
The quiz showed was fronted by TV’s Queen of Mean one again for a celebrity one-off special, but many fans begged for it to make a full-time comeback.
Children in Need raised a staggering £50.1million on the night, beating last year’s record of £46.6million.
