On Christmas Day, EastEnders fans found out Sharon (played by Letitia Dean) and Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) had joined forces in a bid to take down Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt). BBC One viewers saw the episode end with the Queen Vic landlady trying to kill her new husband with a poisoned Christmas pudding. She is determined to deliver Ian his comeuppance and has a killer plan to execute which Jon Sen, the soap’s boss has teased.
While Sharon’s initial plan to kill off Ian didn’t work, she is stepping up the anti.
Speaking about what’s to come in the New Year, the Executive Producer has spoken out about Sharon’s plan to finish Ian off once and for all.
If crushing a suspicious powder into the brandy wasn’t evil enough, it seems Sharon will continue with her plan to position her new husband.
“Of course the big moment from Christmas was Sharon’s deathly scheming against Ian after she masterminded the attack with Phil that didn’t go quite to plan,” Jon said.

“Sharon isn’t about to let Ian off the hook that quickly, her poisonous plotting is just getting started and she wants to avenge Denny’s death once and for all.”
With the mention of poison once more, does this mean Sharon is going to try again?
The actress who plays Sharon recently spoke out about her storyline and said: “I think [she] realises that if she doesn’t do something pretty drastic all her malicious hard work will be ruined.
“Ian’s shown Sharon how he feels, and she hasn’t really manipulated him emotionally throughout their marriage as they both entered it aware of the other’s feelings – or non-existent feelings in Sharon’s case.
It comes after Ian wants nothing to do with his mother now after she gave Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) a fake alibi – and this is the perfect situation for Sharon.
“She’s been battling with Kathy anyway and this accelerates things for her – she’s breaking Ian down, ostracising him from his family, although some could say he did most of that himself – and driving a wedge between him and his mum,” the long-term soap actress commented.
“She’s become very good at playing the doting wife!
“She’s determined to carry on with her plan and she needs to be very close to Ian in order to do so,” Letitia told Metro.co.uk.
