Doctor Who: Clara Oswald return CONFIRMED? Jenna Coleman set to rejoin Peter Capaldi

The Victoria actress is believed to be rejoining the Doctor as his former companion Clara Oswald to give him a “proper send-off”.

“Jenna Coleman has agreed to film something new as Clara,” an insider revealed.

“It’s become a tradition now for the companions to reappear as the Doctor regenerates and Jenna isn’t letting the side down.”

Previous regenerations have seen the likes of Billie Piper return as Rose Tyler when David Tenant left in 2009 while Karen Gillan reprised her role as Amy Pond for Matt Smith’s departure in 2013.

At the end of the episode, the Master (played by John Simm), could be heard asking the Doctor: “Will the future be all girl?”

“We can only hope,” he promptly replied, which sent fans into a frenzy as they believed his comment to be confirmation that the new Time Lord would be a woman.

One star tipped to take over is Fleabag actress and write Phoebe Waller-Bridge while Michaela Cole is also rumoured to be in the running.

Doctor Who will return on Christmas Day.
