The new DLC is not a full expansion but instead adds the Priests of Rathma to the game, including their new abilities and pets.
The Diablo 3 Necromancer release date has been set for June 27, launching in between the end of Season 10 and the beginning of Season 11.
(Season 10 finishes on June 23, Season 11 starts on July 20)
The Rise of the Necromancer pack will be available for Windows and Mac PCs, as well as for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, for £12.99 GBP.
Console gamers who have yet to experience Diablo 3 will be able to pick up the digital-only Eternal Collection, which includes the Rise of the Necromancer pack, Diablo 3, and the Reaper of Souls expansion.
The Diablo 3: Eternal Collection bundle should be available to PlayStation Plus members on PS4 and Xbox Live Gold members on Xbox One for a limited time at a special introductory price of £29.99 GBP (reg. £54.99 SRP).
Otherwise, it should be available on digital stores across platforms, as Blizzard have already confirmed that there will be no physical release.
The Rise of the Necromancer pack comes with these items:
- The twisted and misshapen Half-formed Golem in-game pet
- Cosmetic Wings of the Crypt Guardian
- Two additional character slots
- Two stash tabs (PC only)
- Necromancer portrait, banner, sigil, and accent, and Blood Master pennant
“While players often ask us to bring back their favorite characters from our classic games, few classes have been requested as often, or as passionately, as the necromancer,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment.
“Reimagining the necromancer was a labor of love—we worked hard to capture the essence of what made the class so iconic, while taking advantage of everything Diablo 3 has to offer.”
Fans should also note that the Necromancer DLC is not part of the new update coming to the game, meaning Challenge Rifts, The Shrouded Moors zone, Temple of the Firstborn zone, and the Realms of Fate are all free content—if you own the Reaper of Souls expansion pack.
However, the Rise of the Necromancer pack will require Patch 2.6.0 to be installed, meaning fans will have to wait until maintenance is completed before they can start playing.
