A brand new Destiny 2 trailer will be released later today, as new details emerge about release dates and PS4 exclusivity.
Just days after the launch of the huge Destiny Age of Triumph update, Bungie will release the first full Destiny 2 trailer.
The Destiny 2 trailer will debut at 6pm UK time on the Destiny Twitter page, YouTube channel and Facebook.
And based on recently leaked marketing material, it’s believed Activision and Bungie will announce a September 8 release date for the upcoming sequel.
Sony has also confirmed that Destiny 2 will offer PS4-Exclusive content for a limited time, much like the original.
Based on the recent Cayde-6 teaser, this PS4 exclusivity will run until autumn 2018.
This would suggest that Sony has exclusive rights for a year, which makes rumours of a September 8 release date more plausible.
The release of the trailer caps off a huge week for Destiny, following the release of the Age of Triumph event.
Bungie describes Age of Triumph as a celebration of all things Destiny. It’s available on PS4 and Xbox One, but not Xbox 360 and PS3.
“For three years, Guardians have fought the Darkness,” reads a Bungie blog post. “They have defended the City and everything it stands for. And hope, once lost, has sprung up in every heart. Now the City celebrates its Guardians and all they have done.”
As such, Age of Triumph lets players earn or purchase the Treasure of Ages box, which features every every Eververse item to date, as well as a new weapons, armour and more.
There’s an opportunity earn emblems and other commemorative rewards from the largest Record Book in Destiny history, while Strikes will be available with a new Daybreak modifier.
Updated Raids with Challenges Modes are arguably the biggest draw, however, as Bungie brings them up to endgame levels.
All Raids now include a 390 Light Heroic Mode and come with new challenges.
As Bungie explains: “Both Vault of Glass and Crota’s End have been enhanced with their own new Boss Challenges. A Weekly Featured Raid has been added to the Director which will activate all Challenges for the selected Raid and provide the best rewards.”
Completing the weekly featured Raid unlocks new Mastery Tokens for Raid Ornaments.
