Dancing on Ice 2019, week four takes place tonight (Sunday, January 27) on ITV at 6pm. The remaining 10 celebrities will be trying to impress the judges Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, Ashley Banjo and Jason Gardiner and the audience at home to skate another week. Last week, Richard Blackwood was the second contestant to be eliminated but wh will be next to go?
Who will leave Dancing on Ice 2019 next?
Week four sees bookmakers place their bets on Saira Khan and her partner Mark Hanretty to leave Dancing on Ice next.
She is currently at odds of 2/1 across the bookies’ board to leave the competition.
Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead said: “Saira is our favourite to be the next to depart as she doesn’t seem to hold quite as much public support as some of the others down the bottom of the leaderboard do.
“She’ll have to improve on the ice and secure a good score if she is to survive.”
Jessica Bridge from Ladbrokes added: “It looks like the nation’s siding with the GC over Mr Nasty, and it looks like she’s safe to skate for another week according to the odds as Saira is heavily backed to face the axe.“
Last week, Saira found herself in the skate-off against actor Richard Blackwood.
The judges were divided over who to save but in the end, Khan was safe for at least one more week.
Gardiner and Banjo voted to save Blackwood, while Torvill and Dean voted for Khan.
As Torvill and Dean are the head judges on the panel, they take it in turns to have the overriding vote if necessary
Torvill had the final say and voted to save Khan, sending Blackwood and skating partner Carlotta Edwards home.
Cricketer Ryan Sidebottom and his partner Brandee Malto were the favourites to leave the competition last week, closely followed by Grease star Didi Conn and her partner Łukasz Różycki.
It looks they might still find themselves in the skate-off this weekend.
Betfair’s Katie Baylis said: “Ryan Sidebottom was the favourite to go last week with punters but he managed to survive another week.
“However he’s once again the big favourite to leave this weekend at odds of 6/4 with Didi Conn next at 5/2.
“Saira Khan may also be in the danger zone at odds of 7/2 with the GC next at 8/1, although as expected, she appears to be the main draw card this year for viewers and we wouldn’t be surprised to see her make it a long way in this competition.”
Betfair’s odds on Dancing on Ice, next elimination are:
▪ Ryan Sidebottom 6/4
▪ Didi Conn 5/2
▪ Saira Khan 7/2
▪ Gemma Collins 8/1
▪ Jane Danson 14/1
▪ Melody Thornton 25/1
▪ Brian McFadden 25/1
▪ Saara Aalto 25/1
▪ Wes Nelson 33/1
▪ James Jordan 501
Dancing on Ice professional skater, Dan Whiston spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk about who he thinks will leave the competition next.
He said: “The skate-off is very unpredictable and often the judges have an extremely tough decision to make as to whom they send home.
“It really is down to which celebrity brings the performance on the night, who gives it that extra bit of ‘oomph’ and who does a cleaner skate with fewer mistakes.”
Who will win Dancing on Ice 2019?
At the moment, Strictly professional James Jordan and his professional partner Alexandra Schulman are still the favourites to win the competition.
They are currently at odds of 6/4 to win at Bet365, Skybet and Ladbrokes.
He is closely followed by Love Island’s Wes Nelson and his partner Vanessa Bauer at odds of 7/4 at Coral, Betfair and PaddyPower.
Melody Thornton and her partner Alexander Demetriou are a close third favourite alongside Saara Aalto and Hamish Gaman at odds of 8/1 at Bettered and Marathon Bet.
Aitkenhead from Coral said: “It already seems to look like a two horse race for glory with James and Wes looking head and shoulders above the rest.
“We make James the very narrow favourite and are looking forward to watching a fierce battle on the ice.”
Baylis from Betfair added: “At the other end of the leaderboard it’s now a dead heat for favouritism between James Jordan and Wes Nelson with both at 6/4 to win the series.
“There’s daylight between them and the next celeb in the betting Melody Thornton who is at 7/1 with punters clearly predicting a two-horse race for the title.
Speaking about the 2019 winner, Dan said: “Picking a winner is tough to call this year… I expect the highest scoring skating star to change each and every week. It’s not a cut and dry thing and I’ll potentially set myself up for a fall (pardon the pun) if I give a name too early.
“It will certainly make for a great show though, as the viewers will get the chance to watch a really exciting competition, possibly Dancing on Ice’s most thrilling to date.
“I think predicting which celebrities will compete in the final just yet is another tough call, as everybody is doing so well at the moment.
“I think James Jordan and Melody Thornton are strong contenders for the final but that third spot could go to anybody at this point.
“In past series, there have been injuries that have taken celebrities out of the competition or a celebrity has suddenly turned things around and raced up through the ranks to the top of the leaderboard.
Ex-Pussycat Doll, Melody Thornton added: “I honestly think it’s anyone’s game. I’d love to make it that far. I do love skating and I’d love for my partner to have that success. He deserves it.”
