The 44-year-old said she was dropped from the talent show after being asked to audition for the comeback.
She revealed: “I lived and breathed the show. It means so much to me. What’s happened is heartbreaking.
“The hiring process all the show’s former pros were put through for the new series was disrespectful and demoralising. At the end of long discussions, we all received the same email saying we would not be involved as the standard was ‘so very high’.
“I don’t think any of us were thanked even once for all the hard work we’d put into making Dancing On Ice such a success,” she told The Mirror.
Frankie appeared on Dancing On Ice for eight series between 2007 and 2010, but will not be returning to ITV screens tonight after her failing her audition, which began in February last year.
She went on to explain: “We were told we’d need to audition from scratch to make it fair. But we couldn’t understand why all us original pros who’d been hired and re-hired so many times would have to go through the same process as brand new skaters.
“We didn’t think it was right we were made to prove ourselves in auditions. We were told there were many new ‘big bosses’ who didn’t know who we were. We thought surely they would have done research.”
What’s more, the former professional, who married David Seaman in 2014, went on to explain that they were told they would need to look good on camera as well.
A show insider told Express.co.uk that five professionals who have appeared on the show before will be returning, alongside seven newcomers.
They added: “In order to secure the best professional line up possible, we auditioned and cast skated all across the world. As with all previous series, we always review our line up of professionals before the start of the series.
“As with most audition processes, those who were interested in being considered were invited to submit audition tapes.”
Dancing On Ice returns this evening on ITV at 6pm.
