The rapper – real name Anna Georgette Gilford – divided opinion with her performances on Simon Cowell’s singing competition but managed to make it through to the quarter finals.
Honey G failed to make an impression on the charts when she released her debut single in December through Cowell’s Syco label.
However, ITV bosses think she will be a huge success on the revamped version of the skating show, which is being brought back after three years off air.
A source told the Daily Star: “Honey G was TV gold on last year’s X Factor so it’s a no-brainer to sign her up for Dancing On Ice.
“She is a huge fan favourite and is loved by the whole family, no matter what their age. The big question is whether she will skate in her baseball cap and sunglasses.
“Even the thought of seeing her in a different sparkly outfit each week is hilarious.”
Ice skating legend and Dancing On Ice mentor Jayne Torvill recently revealed the contest will have a new and “refreshed” look when it relaunches.
“The show will definitely be refreshed but the basics will be the same, we will still be teaching celebrities how to skate,” she told The Sun.
The gold medalist continued: “It was a different sort of platform being in the studio – we like to be creative and come up with new things. There’s a new bar to set when the show returns.”
