Countdown: Nick Hewer excited as Rachel Riley reveals she shares name with a PORN STAR

Host Nick, 73, opened the show by discussing a gaffe made by a member of President Donald Trump‘s team, when they accidentally spelled Prime Minister Theresa May’s name wrong by missing out the H.

Unfortunately, Teresa May, spelled without the H, happened to be the name of a UK glamour model, causing what Nick referred to as a “rumpus” in the press.

He then proceeded to ask Countdown beauty Rachel, 31, if she was ever confused with any other Rachel Rileys.

“There are a few Rachel Rileys,” the maths whizz replied. “There’s the fashion designer and she became especially famous when the first royal baby was wearing one of her little outfits with the sail on.”

She then went on to bring up a rather saucy subject for the Channel 4 afternoon gameshow, adding: “There’s a pornstar called Rachel Riley. If you have safe search off, you might get the wrong one.”

Nick looked on in amusement before segueing into the first letters round, cheekily quipping: “I’ll check out the Rachel Rileys.”

The former Apprentice aide to Lord Alan Sugar and Rachel giggled together at the naughty insinuation.

Although the show appeared to get back on it’s usual prim and proper track, it wasn’t long before Rachel was struggling to keep a straight face over another saucy moment.

Contestant Steven Read came up with an unusual five-letter word during a letters game when he announced he had found “twerking” on the Countdown board.

Rachel dutifully spelled out the term, before standing next to it as she held back laughter as Dictionary Corner’s Suzie Dent asked Nick: “Have you ever twerked?”

Back to his stoic self, Nick responded unflinchingly: “Not to my knowledge.”

Countdown airs weekdays at 2.10pm on Channel 4.
