Fans of the ITV soap had been waiting weeks for Sally’s (played by Sally Dynevor) cyber bully to own up to the horrific messages that had been sent to her.
And in last night’s episode, Sally’s sister Gina Seddon (Connie Hyde) admitted to her that she is the internet troll despite having no knowledge of the terrible things she’s done.
However, Tim (Joe Duttine) soon turned detective after overhearing Gina’s stepdaughter Leah (Molly McGylnn) talk about running off to France in a phone conversation.
Questioning her motives, he became suspicious and accused her of sending the vicious messages to his wife.
He said: “Maybe it’s you, maybe thats why she can’t remember doing it. maybe thats why she’s so confused.”
After Tim said to Leah: “I think you sent those messages,” her phone began to rang with Sally’s number saved under the name of ‘Miss Piggy’.
Viewers flocked to social media to praise Tim’s quick-thinking as one person wrote: “Tim is a hero. I love him. #Corrie,” whilst another added: “Columbo Tim on the case #corrie.”
Others couldn’t believe that Leah was the culprit and had blamed her mother.
One viewer said: “@MollyMcGlynn Yes leah…. It’s nice seeing you back on #Corrie I’m loving leah’s storylines tonight!! I can’t believe it was leah tbh!!”
“It was Leah OMG! #Corrie x,” added another fan, whilst a third commented: “So it was Leah after all – busted!!!#Corrie.”
Elsewhere, another major storyline was revealed last night after Ken Barlow finally named his attacker.
Coronation Street continues Friday on ITV at 7.30pm.
