Jack P. Shepherd is said to rake in £200,000 a year to play troubled David Platt, according to The Sun Online.
The 29-year-old joined Corrie in 2000 at the age of just 12, replacing child star Thomas Ormson.
A soap insider claimed that Jack’s salary makes him one of the “new breed” actors on Corrie to break the £200,000 mark.
The impressive pay packet is believed to be the same as the yearly salary earned by original actor William Roache.
William has played serial philanderer Ken Barlow since the Manchester-based show began in 1960.
Fan favourite Kym Marsh is said to be making £150,000 a year portraying grieving barmaid Michelle Connor.
The former Hearsay singer’s sum is thought to be equal to Simon Gregson, who stars as her on-screen husband Steve McDonald.
Simon, who has been on the soap since 1989, signed a new contract in 2016, according to reports.
Meanwhile, sources claim that Michael Le Vell- aka Kevin Webster- received a pay rise of £20,000 recently in order to entice him to remain on the Cobbles, taking his salary up to £170,000.
Returning actress Helen Flanagan, who made her Weatherfield comeback as Rosie Webster in February, is said to be netting £120,000 pro rata.
Coronation Street continues tomorrow night at 7.30pm on ITV.
