Coronation Street spoilers: Tracy Barlow plot hole revealed in Billy Mayhew twist

The florist hit out at the vicar and his adopted daughter Summer Spellman (played by Matilda Freeman) as she claimed she didn’t want an addict living near to her business.

After Billy (Daniel Brocklebank) fell from a cliff on Christmas Day, he suffered an addiction to painkillers before he succumbed to a heroin addiction.

While he is trying to recover from his addiction, Tracy (Kate Ford) didn’t help by booting them out of their flat.

Billy was seen stood on the pavement outside being berated by Tracy.

She was heard warning him: “I don’t want an addict living above my shop.

“Once a junkie, always a junkie. Consider yourself evicted.”

However, fans of the long-running soap were fuming as they recalled Tracy’s drug addiction in 1995.

Tracy became ill after she took an ecstasy pill and had to have an operation for a new kidney.

Fans were quick to point out her forgotten drugs past.

Others noted that Tracy had also killed her boyfriend and tried to sell daughter Amy to Roy Cropper.

Taking to Twitter to comment on the plot hole, one viewer shared: “Tracy, think of your past. Why did you have to get a new kidney? #corrie.”

“Once a junkie, always a junkie, I think Tracy has forgot her ecstasy habit #corrie,” a second wrote.

A third continued: “You would think Tracy would be less judgemental. How would she like it if people went around throwing it in her face that she murdered her boyfriend or tried to sell her own baby? #Corrie.”

Someone else added: “#Corrie “Once a junkie, always a junkie”. Is our Tracy forgetting she used to be one?”

“Hang on – didn’t Tracy actually kill someone and she is judging Billy? #Corrie,” a fifth noted.

Fortunately for Billy, Tracy finally gave in and allowed him to stay in the flat.

Elsewhere on the street, Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) was stunned when she found out the identity of David’s (Jack P Shepherd) new girlfriend.

Emma Brooker (Alexandra Mardell), who has now moved into the Platt family home, was in the year above the teen at school.

Bethany was unsurprisingly unimpressed when she also learned Emma would be working alongside her at the salon.

Coronation Street continues Friday on ITV at 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
