The mechanic was shot at before being burned alive in his car by the soap villain and this week will see the residents of Weatherfield learn about his tragic death.
In tonight’s episode, Alya Nazir (played by Sair Khan) is devastated when police tell her that Luke’s (Dean Fagan) body has been found in his burnt out car.
She immediately assumes that the Parker brothers are responsible and tells the police that she believes it was a racially motivated attack.
However, she is unaware that Luke’s killer is right on her doorstep.
The Nazir’s, led by an angry Zeedan (Qasim Akhtar) will address the press gathered on their doorstep and reveal they plan to hold a vigil, which is watched by Phelan (Conor McIntyre).
But as the street mourn the loss of Luke, Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni) remembers the gun he was shown by Phelan and becomes concerned that he had a part to play in his death.
Last week, Phelan encouraged the youngster to hold onto the gun and asked him how it felt to know he could end someone’s life.
Viewers will remember that the soap villain later put the weapon back in his toolbox while wearing gloves to ensure his fingerprints weren’t on it.
Could he use the gun, which has Seb’s fingerprints all over it, to frame the youngster?
Coronation Street airs tonight on ITV at 7.30pm.
