Daniel Osbourne (played by Rob Mallard) has been walking on cloud nine since discovering his fiancée Sinead Tinker (Katie McGlynn) is having their baby.
With the journalist so overjoyed he is even planning to surprise Sinead with a wedding in Coronation Street next week.
However, the son of Ken Barlow (Willian Roache) has been left in the dark about his soon-to-be wife’s pregnancy troubles.
Daniel is completely unaware Sinead has been bleeding and has no knowledge of a suspicious bump being found on her cervix.
But when Daniel discovers Sinead has been diagnosed with cervical cancer he will not be able to cope with the heartbreaking news.
Having depended on Sinead for so long and now being put in a helpless situation Daniel will revert to his old ways, potentially putting his partner at risk.
Fans of the popular ITV soap will remember Daniel tried to murder his own father out of anger for having been abandoned by Ken.
With Sinead keeping such a sensitive secret from him, will Daniel attempt to kill the love of his life out of rage?
Daniel will never be the same once Sinead’s secret is exposed, as Rob Mallard, who plays the troubled character, described him as “dangerous”.
Speaking about Sinead and Daniel’s rocky relationship, Rob told The Sun: “Every time their relationship has come under threat, it’s always made him go off the rails.
“It’s a little bit unhinged. It’s a little bit dangerous, to put all of your mental wellbeing on one person.”
Worryingly, 26-year-old Rob went on to tell the newspaper: “All of his mental stability lies with this very sweet, ill girl.”
His comments come after Sinead actress Katie revealed details about her character’s cancer story, describing the plot as “devastating”.
In an interview with Radio Times, Katie said Sinead holds herself responsible for her pregnancy issues because she previously had an abortion.
She told the publication: “She’s just constantly thinking: ‘It’s my fault, it’s my fault’. She’s worried that it’s going wrong again, which is devastating for her.”
The 25-year-old TV star also spoke about Sinead’s fears of upsetting Daniel and him finding out something is wrong with her.
“If she tells anyone, there’s a chance that Daniel will find out because she doesn’t know the full news herself yet,” she said.
“She’s just keeping everything to herself. She can’t risk anyone finding out for his sake.”
Concluding, Katie finished: “She knows it’s going to break his heart.”
Coronation Street continues tonight on ITV at 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
