Coronation Street spoilers: Kayla Westbrook related to Tina McIntyre in surprise twist?

Kayla (played by Mollie Winnard) stepped onto the scene as Zeedan Nazir (Qasim Akhtar) opened up a new takeaway on Coronation Street, Speed Daal.

The newcomer started her job as a waitress at the restaurant having come recommended by Robert Preston (Tristan Gemmill).

However, she may be carrying a secret connection to Tina McIntyre, who was played by Michelle Keegan before the actress left the ITV soap in 2014.

Those watching at home thought the new face seemed familiar and took to Twitter to comment.

One wrote: “Don’t know why but Kayla reminds me of Tina #corrie.”

“#Corrie They’ve found a new Michelle Keegan. Mollie Winnard playing Kayla. Introduce her to David!” another added.

Although, others thought she was hiding something which could prove to be a major plot twist.

A viewer speculated: “Loving Kayla. But she’s hiding something. New characters always hide something from others. #sceptic #corrie.”

Therefore, it could be that Kayla is a relative of Tina’s as the pair are so similar.

Michelle Keegan recently confessed she would “love” to go back to the soap as Tina, although her character is dead.

She told Press Association: “I always say that I’d love to go back to Corrie.

“I was always a massive fan of Coronation Street growing up and I’ll never say never.

“You never know what happens in the future.”

Could Tina rise from the dead in spectacular soap fashion?

Meanwhile, it is already known that Kayla will stir up some drama on the Street.

In upcoming episodes, the waitress will come between Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) and Craig Tinker (Colson Smith).

Soap boss Kate Oates, who recently announced she would be stepping down, told Radio Times that Kayla could cause a love triangle.

“She’ll be causing trouble for Bethany and Craig,” she explained.

Viewers will just have to wait and see what Kayla gets up to.

Coronation Street continues Monday at 7.30pm on ITV.
