Eileen Grimshaw (played by Sue Cleaver) was released by the police in tonight’s Coronation Street, but after returning to the home she previously shared with her husband, the character was feeling uneasy.
As photographers and other residents stared at her, close friend Liz McDonald (Beverley Callard) showed up for support.
However, Eileen was not interested in speaking to anyone and asked to be left alone by Liz.
Police were searching Craig Tinker’s house after finding out that it was the late Andy Carver’s (Oliver Farnworth) last known residence.
While Liz was there, the house phone rang, with some fans even suggesting that Pat (Connor McIntyre) could be at the other end of it.
Eileen then told Liz: “I don’t mean to be rude Liz, but I think I need to be on my own for a bit.
“No, I’m okay. Please Liz. I’m fine!
“Look, I’m just knackered and I want a bath and sleep.”
Liz then said: “Hey, I am worried about you. If there is anything you need at all, phone me!”
Fans of the show instantly took to social media following the episode.
One viewer tweeted: “@itvcorrie Eileen??? What about Pat and his gammy leg, I’m worried about him. Did he sew it up alright? #Corrie #Phelan.”
“I was honestly so scared when Eileen walked into her and Phelan’s home.. I was expecting him to be there. I can just imagine Phelan hiding then popping out from the door or something #corrie.” posted another.
A third added: “@itvcorrie I wonder who was ringing Eileen #Corrie.”
“I’m finding @itvcorrie really uncomfortable to watch, feel so sorry for Eileen #Corrie #Phelan #Eileen,” wrote another.
A fifth said: “Are the Police going to give themselves a telling off for like not listening to ‘everyone’ about Phelan after they’ve finished with Eileen? #Corrie.”
“Please, can Eileen end up sharing a cell with Anna Windass. #corrie #CoronationStreet,” teased another.
Elsewhere in the soap, Shona Ramsey was dumped by David Platt, before rapist Josh Tucker confronted and threatened David to keep quiet.
Craig also came clean about his OCD and finally sought the help that he needs.
