It all unfolded as Audrey (played by Sue Nicholls) was on the end of a talking-to from her daughter, as Gail (Helen Worth) believed she was being duped by Coronation Street newcomer Rosemary (Sophie Thompson).
The hairdresser had gone to see Rosemary, a clairvoyant, with the hopes of speaking to her dead husband Alf Roberts (Bryan Mosley).
Rosemary also told Audrey that several of Gail’s late husbands were trying to send messages, which Audrey relayed to Gail on the ITV soap tonight.
However, Gail was concerned that the psychic was taking advantage of her mother, and told Audrey she was “vulnerable” as a single older woman.
Although, Audrey wouldn’t hear a word of it, and quickly shot back at Gail.
She said: “I’ve got Netflix, I am never on my own.”
The news that Audrey was a fan of the popular streaming site tickled viewers who quickly took to Twitter to comment.
“Best one liner from Audrey in #corrie ‘I’m never alone, I’ve got Netflix’,” wrote one fan.
While another declared: “’I have Netflix, I’m never on my own!’ Quote of the century on #Corrie from Audrey too true.”
“Audrey has Netflix. What a woman #corrie,” a viewer praised.
A fourth added: ‘I’ve got Netflix I’m not lonely’ Best line Audrey has ever said! #Corrie.”
Gail went on to express more worry about Audrey being taken for a ride, and told her: “You’re a terrible judge of character, you’re almost as bad as me!”
The closing moments of the programme then turned to a more serious note as Gail pleaded with her her mother.
“Please don’t see her again,” she begged.
Will Audrey heed her daughter’s advice, or will she return to Rosemary?
Coronation Street continues Friday at 7.30pm on ITV.
