Coronation Street spoilers: Aidan Connor snubs family in will in favour of THIS character

Aidan Connor’s (played by Shayne Ward) death has rocked his family and residents in Coronation Street but things will get worse when details from the important legal document are revealed.

The Connor family, including Johnny (Richard Hawley), Kate (Faye Brooks) and Carla (Alison King), will be left heartbroken when they read Aidan’s will in an upcoming episode.

Since his death, Kate and Carla have had to take care of all his business affairs which included running the Underworld knicker factory.

But in a blow to the family it will be revealed that Aidan has left the company to his business partner, Alya Nazir (Siar Khan), rather than his own relatives.

It is believed a huge legal battle will ensure as the Connors plan to get back the business they think they are entitled to.

A TV insider said: “In the fallout from the emotional storyline Aidan’s will shows that he’s left Underworld to Alya.

“It’s a shock as everyone was expecting it to be left to his own family.”

The source went on to tell The Sun: “It’s an unintentional snub to the Connors, as he made the will months earlier when he thought about taking his own life.”

Meanwhile, Coronation Street has been applauded for their handling of the suicide story, with viewers taking to Twitter to praise the ITV show.

One fan shared: “Coronation Street have portrayed this storyline so well, showing that we don’t always know what’s going on in someone’s life beyond what we can see.”

Another posted: “Bravo @itvcorrie watching the aftermath of Aidan’s suicide is heartbreaking but it’s being covered and acted so well.”

A third said: “That #Corrie episode was extraordinarily well done. The juxtaposition of Aidan’s and David’s stories worked very well and great care was taken in ensuring to show a balanced representation of numerous viewpoints and reactions.”

Someone else added: “What a stunning performance by all involved at @itvcorrie all of you have done an amazing job I’m sat here in tears and all I want to do is hug you all and help those who suffer.”

While another tweeted: “Well done @itvcorrie on showing the aftermath of loosing a loved one. It’s the most heartbreaking thing a parent, family member or friend can ever go through.”

Elsewhere, producer Kate Oates congratulated Shayne on his performance, saying: “The challenge for Shayne was that so much of his performance was about subtext and subtlety.

“I think he explored that so beautifully and with such depth – he was fantastic.”

She went on to tell the Metro: “I’d also like to say that when we approached Shayne with the storyline, he was gracious, brilliant and professional.

“He’s been a joy to work with, a brilliant company member and a brilliant actor.”

Coronation Street continues tonight on ITV at 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
