Bethany (played by Lucy Fallon) finally plucked up the courage to reveal what really happened the night Neil (Ben Cartwright) took her into the bedroom as her groomer Nathan (Christopher Harper) threw another one of his parties.
Her confession came after Craig (Colson Smith) secretly recorded Neil threatening him, when he told him that he was going to be asking to have another mentor in the police force.
Neil could be heard saying on the tape: “If you don’t keep your mouth shut, I’ll do a lot more to Bethany than I did last time. I didn’t hurt her, she loved it!
“Forget about Nathan and all those little slappers, this isn’t a game. If any of this comes out I will ruin you.”
Later on in the episode Neil could then be seen flashing Craig a grimacing look as he was led into a room to be questioned, but will he follow through with his threat? What will happen to Craig now?
As per usual, fans of the ITV soap immediately took to Twitter to voice their opinions on the whole thing.
One person shared: “Bethany’s being incredibly brave #CoronationStreet #Corrie.”
“This is why #Corrie is the best! Bethany you’re a star! Powerful and so well acted and written. I love #coronationstreet @itvcorrie,” a second posted.
A third wrote: “#coronationstreet I was ready to rage, I thought Bethany was going to convince him to delete the recording…”
A further social networker screamed: “#coronationstreet Bethany’s ordeal may finally be over!”
