Lucy Fallon – who plays rape victim Bethany – has previously confirmed that the horrific storyline that has had everybody talking is going to get a lot worse before it gets better.
Fans of the ITV soap were left devastated tonight as DC Lee turned up to Sarah’s (played by Tina O’Brien) house to confirm that they’d had to let Nathan (Christopher Harper) go, with her explaining: “I’m sorry but I’ve got some bad news, the CPS won’t be pursuing the case against Nathan Curtis. I’m afraid we simply don’t have enough evidence.
“He’s been very smart. He’s made sure the messages sound innocent with no suggestion of any wrong doing.”
So, will he be back on the cobbles seeking revenge before viewers know it?
The second episode then saw Bethany turn to self-harming once again, with her picking at a fresh scar on her arm, as Sarah told Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) that she would have to get policeman Neil – who has been in on the sex ring plot from the start – round to talk to her daughter.
As the traumatic scenes unfolded, one person screamed: “Nathan will come after Bethany #corrie.”
“Heard it was going to get worse for poor Bethany, bless her,” a second shared.
A third cried: “I’m feeling devastated for poor Bethany right now #Corrie #coronationstreet.”
“So Nathan the creep has gotten away with it then! Grrrrr! #CoronationStreet #Corrie,” another raged.
However, an optimistic further social networker stated: “Bethany has an entire family Nathan, they will kill you if you touch her again #Corrie.”
