Coronation Street: Nick Tisley to make ULTIMATE 'sacrifice' to be with Leanne Battersby

Romance is definitely on the cards for on-again off-again duo Leanne Battersby (played by Jane Danson) and Nick Tisley (Ben Price)in Coronation Street.

But there could be trouble ahead as actress Jane Danson, who portrays Leanne, has hinted their relationship could break down again.

Fans of the ITV series have watched the couple grow close these past few weeks, but Jane said the more times they split the more likely they are to finish for good.

“I think each time you break up the relationship dilutes a little bit more,” the 40-year-old actress explained.

Nevertheless, she is optimistic about Leanne and Nick’s future and hopes they found their happy ever after together.

She added: “Leanne and Nick have been on and off for such a long time, that hopefully they can build their relationship and raise Oliver [Leanne’s son] together.”

Unfortunately, they will never truly be able to commit to each other until Nick’s wife Elsa Tisley (Kelly Harrison) agrees to leave Leanne’s name out of the divorce proceedings.

Nick will meet with Elsa to discuss the divorce in an upcoming episode of Coronation Street and offers to pay her if she refrains from mentioning Leanne in the paper work.

Will Elsa agree to not include Leanne’s name in the divorce proceedings? Or will she use the opportunity to ruin his chances with Leanne?

One thing is for certain, Nick’s gesture will not go unnoticed by Leanne, as she will finally see he is devoted to her.

Speaking about the scene, actress Jane said: “I think that shows commitment from Nick’s part.

“He’s ready to be with Leanne and sacrifice his financial situation and his business to be with her.

“I think he’s putting his neck on the line a little bit for her. That shows a bit more level of commitment than when he left last time.”

In Coronation Street this week, Leanne will catch her sister Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) and Imran Habeeb (Charlie De Meto) getting frisky together.

The pair briefly dated until Toyah found out he was seeing her at the same time he was sleeping with her step-sister.

At the time, the siblings got their pay back, but Toyah falls for the lawyers charm again this week and is spotted by Leanne and Nick canoodling on the sofa.

Although most sisters would be furious with their sibling dating the man they used to see, Leanne will likely get over it.

Discussing Leanne’s reaction to Toyah and Imran, Jane shared: “I don’t think she’d be massively bothered.

“I think Leanne has other things going on, but she would be a bit miffed if she didn’t tell her first. I’m sure Leanne would be able to get over it though.”

Coronation Street continues tomorrow night on ITV at 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
