Coronation Street’s charity event was being held in honour of Luke Britton, who was killed by soap villain Pat Phelan (Connor McIntyre) earlier this year.
Despite being told that he should not fight due to epilepsy, David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) insisted that he wanted to get into the ring.
The hairdresser denied doctors orders and agreed to fight Gary Windass (Mikey North).
David’s fight with Gary appeared to be going well until Josh began to taunt him.
He was heard whispering: “I think you’d rather do round two with me.”
David was left furious over Josh’s comments and took his aggression out on Gary.
He went on to knock out Gary, who was seen lying on the floor unconscious.
Fans were quick to rush to Twitter to express their outrage at Josh’s remark.
“I know it was that peace of scum Josh he makes my skin crawl poor Gary got in the way !! The red mist appeared in front of David !! Just heartbreaking #Corrie,” one viewer shared.
Another added: “Wow josh is horrible he caused David to lash out completely #Corrie.”
A third continued: “David should of turned on Josh not poor Gary #Corrie.”
Meanwhile viewers also expressed their concern for Alya Nazir (Sair Khan).
The former factor worker has been growing closer to Josh in recent episodes as they organised the charity event.
And tonight, Alya confessed that she was beginning to fall for the newcomer.
Fans were left horrified and took to Twitter to warn Alya to stay away from Josh.
“No Alya don’t do it, #Corrie not Josh please @itvcorrie,” one viewer wrote.
Another added: “Alya stay away from Josh! He’s bad news #Corrie xx.”
Will Josh be able to charm Alya or will David manage to convince her to stay away from the mechanic?
Coronation Street continues Wednesday on ITV at 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
