Ever since Daniel Osbourne returned to Weatherfield, fans have been waiting to find out when his mother would be making a comeback.
And now Rob Mallard, who plays the youngster, has hinted that there is the possibility that she could make an explosive return.
His character was abandoned by his mum when he was a teenager and it seems there is more to their backstory then he has let on.
The actor is also keen to work with Denise and explore their relationship more, which was one of the reasons he auditioned for the role.
Speaking to Inside Soap, he explained: “I would love it if she were to come back to Corrie! I’ve been a fan of Denise for a few years – and when the audition for Daniel first came up, one of the reasons I was so keen to win the role was because of the people I’d get to work with.
“I knew I’d get to do scenes with Barlows, but there was also the possibility I’d get to work with Denise at some point down the line. And that wasn’t something I was going to turn my back on!”
Rob’s character Daniel has been very busy since he arrived in Coronation Street and quickly made a move on Sinead Tinker (played by Katie Glynn).
The pair slept together after Sinead felt she was being ignored by her boyfriend Chesney Brown (Sam Aston).
Following their night of passion on the Underworld factory floor, it seems their relationship will get stronger with the stars pictured flat-hunting in recent behind-the-scenes images.
Katie, who plays Sinead, previously said their relationship is “pretty saucy” compared to her time with Chesney, which she described as “tame”.
Coronation Street airs on ITV tonight at 7.30pm.
