Coronation Street actress Lucy Fallon admits it will get 'LOADS WORSE' for Bethany Platt

For months, fans of the ITV soap have watched in horror as Nathan Curtis (played by Chris Harper) continues to groom Bethany.

In last weeks episode, things took a turn for the worse when his friend Neil (Ben Cartwright) ended up alone with the schoolgirl and forced her to sleep with him, despite her pleas to Nathan for help.

But, it seems the manipulation is far from over as Bethany accepted Nathan’s proposal earlier on in the week.

And it appears viewers will have to wait a lot longer until Nathan’s brought to justice as actress Lucy revealed the plot is set to thicken.

“Things get loads worse, they really do. In the next few weeks you will start to see things get worse and worse. You will see this goes on for a bit.” Lucy told the Press Association.

Teasing the ending of the controversial storyline, she said: ”I think we know it’s going on through the summer until the autumn and we know the end.

“We got a say in how it’s going to end, the NSPCC got a say too, it’s been really good, everyone has given their advice. I think it’s going to be a really good ending.

The 21-year-old added that her boyfriend has stopped watching the harrowing scenes and admitted she couldn’t even face watching last week’s episode of Bethany being raped.

She continued: “I didn’t watch it when it was on, I watched it later on my own. My boyfriend doesn’t want to watch it but my mum and dad watched it and they text me saying it was good.

“It was harder to watch than to film. When we filmed it it was done in about 20 minutes, the director was really quick and sensitive.

“It was hard but over in half an hour and then I drove home. It was harder to watch.”

Coronation Street continues tonight at 7.30pm on ITV.
