Comic Relief took over the BBC last night as a whole host of famous faces gathered to help raise money for charity.
One celebrity who was due to perform as the headline act of the evening was Louis Tomlinson.
But due to the sudden death of his sister, Felicite Tomlinson on Wednesday afternoon, the former One Director band member understandably pulled out of the commitment.
Those watching Comic Relief saw host Lenny Henry send out a brief tribute of condolences and well wishes to the songwriter and his family during this difficult time.
He said: “Tonight, we were due to be joined by a special member of the Comic Relief family. Louis Tomlinson wanted to be on this stage to help us, but the sudden and tragic loss of his sister Felicite, obviously means he can’t be here.
“The love and best wishes of all of us at Comic Relief go out to Louis and his family at this terrible time,” he concluded.
Louis who was due to sing his newly released single Two Of Us, which was an emotional ballad to his late mother Johannah Deakin, who sadly passed away in 2016 following a battle with leukaemia, has pulled out of all promotional commitments since the news broke.
It comes after Scotland Yard said police were called by London Ambulance Service at 12:52 on Wednesday 13 March to a residential address following reports of a woman having a cardiac arrest.
“A female believed to be aged 18 as pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem examination will take place in due course,” the official statement read.
According to The Sun, a person who was with Felicite called 999, whereby two ambulance crews, alongside an experienced paramedic and a single responder medic in a car arrived.
This year’s Red Nose Day raised over a staggering £63 million for charity and the funds will go towards supporting projects both here in the UK and abroad.
The evening saw an array of performances, stories and sketches, but one in particular send the nation into a frenzy.
Those watching at home were given a potential sneak peak in Bodyguard season two, or at least a major spoiler.
In the short clip, PS David Budd (played by Richard Madden) was back protecting a new Prime Minister, Joanna Lumley.
However, it was in a tense moment when the boot was opened a familiar face was seen staring back.
None other than a very-much-alive Julia Montague (Keeley Hawes) was seen exclaiming: “Busted!”
But what following sent fans into high suspicion over whether or not the hit BBC drama would be returning, and if so whether the fan-favourite character was indeed dead or alive.
Jumping into the back of the car, David did not seem surprised to see Julia.
And she asked the question everyone wanted to know the answer to: “Do you know if I’m in series two?” and David clarified: “You’re dead.”
But Julia threw a spanner into the works when she said: “Am I?”
Comic Relief is available to watch on the BBC iPlayer.
