Christopher 'Big Black' Boykin, Star of MTV's Rob & Big, Dead at 45

Christopher “Big Black” Boykin, best known for starring as one half of MTV’s Rob & Big, died Tuesday morning at the age of 45, his reps confirm to TMZ. No official cause of death is known at this time.

Boykin starred opposite skateboarder Rob Dyrdek in the reality series Rob & Big from 2006 to 2008; in addition to being Dyrdek’s best friend, Boykin also served as his bodyguard.

Following his time on Rob & Big, Boykin appeared on several other MTV shows, including Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory, Ridiculousness, Guy Code and Snack Off.

Per a spokesman for the network: “MTV is deeply saddened to learn the news of Christopher Big Black’ Boykin’s passing. He was a long time and beloved member of the MTV family and will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends at this time.”
