The former England football star, 39, sparked a huge backlash after sharing a cute snap of his wife, 38, cuddling up with their pet pooch online along with the caption: “My two b****es.”
Speaking on today’s episode of the ITV panel show, Christine revealed that she didn’t even know about the fury, saying: “I didn’t even realise that it had happened until this morning!”
“Just for you at home,” she said. “If you know Frank at all, or indeed us, there was certainly no offence made by this post.”
She also confessed her shock when she arrived at work only for Loose Women star Gloria Hunniford, 77, to jokily brand her with the term.
Gloria recalled calling Christine a “b****” when she met her at the studio, saying: “You went, ‘What?!’ Because you hadn’t actually seen it in the papers!”
“I didn’t even know anything about it,” Christine admitted. “I thought she’d actually called me a you know what! I thought, ‘That’s not like Gloria’.'”
Addressing the offence that many had taken at Frank’s post, she went on to say: “It’s a bit weird even talking about it because it’s just so unrelated to how we would be as a couple.
“It was completely, clearly a joke,” Christine insisted. “And anyone that remotely knows Frank would know that.
“Of course I’m not annoyed,” she continued. “Obviously, if someone is annoyed then that’s a different thing and no one would set out to make anyone feel upset.
“But I certainly wasn’t annoyed and if anyone should be, it’s me!” Christine laughed.
Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
