During an interview with Coronation Street newcomer Nicole Thorp, the Loose Women panelist, 38, appeared to utter the rude word as she stumbled over “sit” and “shut”
“I think it was your granny who said, ‘When Corrie comes on, you s**t – you have to sit down and shut up and I think that’s just the best.”
Despite the error, Christine just continued on with the interview as she moved on from the little faux pas.
Soap star Nicola, who plays Nicola Rubinstein in the ITV series, revealed that this autumn would be a big one for Coronation Street and could “make history”.
She told the Christine: “If people don’t already watch Coronation Street, now the time because I think what’s going to happen over the next few months will make soap history.”
The actress added: “When I read the scripts I get very, very excited about what’s to come. I can’t say anything but keep watching.”
Nicola’s character – who shares her name – was recently revealed to be the long-lost daughter of Weatherfield villain Pat Phelan (played by Connnr McIntyre).
Speaking about her storyline, Nicola said: “[Phelan] has got to come out at some point now, he’s got two choices: he either owns up to what he’s done and hope that she loves him for who he is, or he does everything he can to hide everything he’s done.
“That’s all going to be unfolding over the autumn – and it’s a really exciting autumn we’ve got coming up.”
Christine is filling for host Lorraine Kelly this week on her ITV show and yesterday viewers got to see a hilarious throwback of the Loose Women favourite.
Christine was heard looking less than impressed after the image was shown as she told those at home: “Funny enough, the production team thought it would be really funny to find this old photo of me.”
She went on to explain: “I’m about 17. Everyone thinks the hair’s permed, it’s not. That’s is my hair still, actually. I spend about an hour trying to get rid of that on a daily basis.”
