Cheating is taboo in most relationships, and can cause a great deal of heartache for the wounded husband, wife, boyfriend or girlfriend.
Many suspicious partners will be on the lookout for various cheating signs – but did you know your partner’s politics is an indication of how they will behave, according to one website.
Infidelity website Ashley Madison asked its members what party they vote for, and an overwhelming number opted for one party.
Those who voted Conservative made up the majority of cheaters on the site.
The website asked over 3,000 UK members which political party cheaters associate with and found that nearly half of members vote for the Conservatives, at 46 per cent.
This was followed by the Labour party (31 per cent) and behind that Liberal Democrats (15 per cent).
“Perhaps since more traditional values rule certain areas of their life, our UK members seek less rigidity in other parts, like their marriage,” says Isabella Mise, Director of Communications for Ashley Madison.

Scottish National Party – 7 per cent
Green Party – 6 per cent

Isabella added: “Almost half our surveyed members (47 per cent) say their spouse votes for the same political party as they do compared to only 12 per cent who can say the same of their extramarital partners.
“However that may simply be because a large portion (78 per cent) don’t even know which political party their affair partner votes for.
“While 70 per cent of respondents think it’s important to stay informed, 64 per cent don’t care who their spouse votes for, and 81 per cent don’t care who their affair partner votes for.”
Among other cheating signs is how attractive your other half is, but only if they are a woman.
