Celebrity Masterchef viewers IN TURMOIL over Ulrika Jonsson's dish: ‘Ulr-IKEA’

The 50-year-old served up a traditional Swedish dish of meatballs, served with mashed potato and green vegetables.

However, as she put the final cream sauce and lingonberries to the dish, viewers couldn’t help but think they had seen the dish in one very famous furniture store.

IKEA has developed a cult following of shoppers who love to tuck in to their “köttbullar”, or meatballs and it appeared that fans of the BBC cooking show were also lovers of the Swedish superstore.

One viewer wrote: “Ulrika could have got all of that from IKEA.”

Another said: “Ulrika literally making IKEA meatballs with all the trimmings is my favourite thing.”

A third added: “Ulrika could have gone to IKEA for that.”

A fourth Tweeted: “And in IKEA cafe, Ulrika… Swedish meatballs, mash, lingonberry sauce).

Whatever viewers thought, the host made it through to the final, after impressing both John Torode and Gregg Wallace as well as a trio of tough food critics.

She will be joining DJ Dev and Angelica Bell, and cried at the end of the show with joy after promising her kids she would get to the last round.

Celebrity Masterchef concludes this Friday on BBC One at 8.30pm.
