Two days ago Marvel Studios announced a second look at Captain Marvel, much to the surprise of fans. After all, the Avengers 4 trailer is still yet to arrive but now looks likely for Wednesday. Nevertheless, the second Captain Marvel trailer was a surprise treat and shows more of Brie Larson unleashing her cosmic power. But this isn’t your standard origin story, with her having already gained her abilities.
In fact, it now looks like Captain Marvel will see flashbacks to her superhero origin, one that involves the Skrulls.
Whatever the case, she’s struggling to remember the truth of it all.
And in the few action-packed scenes we’re shown, it’s clear Captain Marvel wields unbelievable power.
Just look at her destroy a spaceship mid-flight, while sporting her iconic helmet.
The film’s official synopsis reads: “Set in 1995, Captain Marvel follows Carol Danvers, a former U.S. Air Force fighter pilot, as she turns into one of the galaxy’s mightiest heroes and joins Starforce, an elite Kree military team, before returning home with new questions about her past and identity when the Earth is caught in the centre of an intergalactic conflict between two alien worlds.”
Fans will know Captain Marvel also stars in Avengers 4, having been teased in the end credits scene for Avengers Infinity War.
But the big question is how does she come into Avengers 4 when it’s set over 20 years later.
For one thing, she hasn’t changed, so perhaps some sort of time travel is involved?
Hopefully, the Avengers 4 trailer will shed some light on this mystery.
Captain Marvel is released in UK cinemas on March 8, 2019.
