Can YOU see what is alarming about this model’s bikini picture?

Cancer symptoms can be difficult to spot if you don’t know what to look for.

This model didn’t realise she had one until she visited doctors looking to have a cosmetic procedure.

Chlo Jordan, a 21-year-old model, wanted to have a mole removed from her stomach, as she felt it was getting in the way of her bikini selfies.

However, on visiting the doctor a biopsy was recommended, which revealed that Chlo had skin cancer – and doctors believed it had spread.

She had previously noticed that the mark was changing size and colour, but never suspected she could have skin cancer.

“I had no idea my mole has turned cancerous, I’d had it all my life,” she said.

“I loved going on holiday and being tanned, and although I didn’t regularly go on sunbeds, I did go through a period of going on once or twice per month.

“I’d had the mole on my stomach since I was born and when it started to change shape last summer, I didn’t take much notice.”

However, she found that the mole, while not impacting her health in a way she took notice of, did get in the way when she wanted to take a picture in a bikini or nice underwear.

She said, on discovering her cancer: “I felt numb, I never imagined getting something so serious while being young.

“I’m so thankful it was getting in the way of my bikini selfies now, because that has definitely saved my life.”

Chlo was able to have the mole removed by surgery and later posted photos of her stomach, before and after surgery.

“I’ve been overwhelmed with messages of support since posting my story online,” she said.

“I have lots of girls messaging me with photos of moles that they’re concerned about.

“I would tell anyone who has any worries over skin changes to get themselves checked by a doctor – it’s better to be safe than sorry.”

Chlo’s surgery to remove the cancerous mole took place on March 24 and she had to wait for further tests before doctors could organise the next steps in her treatment.

“Hopefully, once all my treatment has finished later this year, I will be cancer-free and I’ll be able to continue with my life as normal,” she said.

Do you know the signs you could have mouth cancer? This is what to look out for.
