Britain’s Got Talent 2019: Viewers slam Michael Ball for ‘ruining’ Susan Boyle performance

As the 2019 edition of the ITV contest wrapped up last night, former contestants Susan and Diversity each delivered a performance.

Susan, who first auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent ten years ago, sang alone first before being joined on stage by Michael.

The pair sang a duet of A Million Dreams from The Greatest Showman.

However, some of those watching at home weren’t too impressed with Michael’s involvement in the rendition.

Many were quick to opine that it should have been left to Susan to do a solo.

“Watching #Bgt michael ball has totally failed Susan Boyle she would have sung much better without him #subo,” one tweeted.

Another said: “#BGT Not sure why Michael Ball was ruining Susan’s performance she certainly didn’t need him there. Prefer her solo?”

“Michael Ball absolutley ruined Susan Boyle’s song and moment. Travesty. #BGT #BGTFinal,” a third added.

While a fourth suggested: “Michael Ball should’ve left it to Susan Boyle. Dreadful #BGT.”

However, other viewers enjoyed the performance and took to Twitter to comment.

“Susan Boyle, a true national treasure #BGT,” one shared.

Another wrote: “Susan Boyle is still as amazing as ever #BGT.”

“Susan Boyle , Michael Ball OMG amazing #bgt,” a third opined.

While a fourth declared: “#bgt love Michael and Susan singing.”

The series was won by war veteran Colin Thackery who sang Love Changes Everything last night.

Colin has bagged a slot in the Royal Variety Performance as well as the £250,000 prize money.

One of the big shocks of the night came as X divulged his real identity in a dramatic unveiling.

It transpired he was in fact 2018 contestant Marc Spelmann, who didn’t make the final last year.

The judges, along with Ant and Dec, were completely flabbergasted by the reveal.

Marc as X came in second place next to Chelsea Pensioner Colin.

Britain’s Got Talent is available to watch on ITV Hub.
