BREAKING: PUBG maintenance period EXTENDED leaving loyal fans furious

The maintenance is expected to see the introduction of a new leaderboard season but has left fans counting down the minutes as the game’s Twitter account announced it would be extended by an hour.

They tweeted: “The maintenance on our live servers has been extended by an hour due to an unforeseen technical issue. We’re doing our best to fix the issue as soon as possible. Please accept our apologies.”

Fans were livid on website Down Detector access to seemingly the most popular game in the world is cut off.

One user wrote: “This is so dumb, still freaking down! PUBG server developers suck.”

Another said: “Ffs this is taking so long lmao.”

A third stated: “F*** one more hour.”

A fourth said: “Extended for another hour, RIP.”

Earlier this week it was announced that PUBG is in development for mobile platforms after developer Tencent confirmed the port.

No release date has been announced, nor has the way in which the game will be adapted for smartphones to allow a similar gameplay experience.

The developer did disclose that the mobile version will release in China first – a worldwide release would surely follow soon after if the game replicates the same success as its PC counterpart.

PUBG has sold over 20million units worldwide.

The hugely popular title will also be heading to Xbox One on December 12 and will be available through the Xbox Game Preview programme – despite the huge player base, the game’s development is not officially complete.

There is currently no word on a PlayStation 4 version of PUBG despite Sony having a firm lead in console numbers compared to Xbox.

PUBG is a multiplayer online battle royale game developed by Bluehole – the game is focused around player versus player action with battles with up to 100 players taking place.

As of 03:28am GMT PUBG maintenance was completed, according to an update from the game’s Twitter.

The update read: “Players, the maintenance has now been completed. Thank you for your patience.”
