Bohemian Rhapsody deleted scenes: This iconic song was CUT – Ben Hardy's FAVOURITE moment

Ben Hardy, who plays drummer Roger Taylor, has revealed that one of his favourite moments to film never made it to the finished cut. The scene, it seems, was a performance of a song from Queen’s fourth album, A Night At The Opera – also the B-side to You’re My Best Friend. Have you guessed what it is yet?

It’s ’39, a song composed by lead guitarist Brian May.

Speaking to Collider, Hardy identified it as one of his favourite days on set.

“Is ’39 in it?” he asked his co-stars, before he had seen the finished cut.

When they said no, he added: “We play the song ’39 in Japan and that for me was one of my favourite days to film.”

Indeed, there’s a moment in the film where the band meet their manager, played by Aidan Gillan.

He tells them they can look forward to things such as Top of the Pops and a promotional tour of Japan, and in a subsequent montage we see only a glimpse of their stint in the latter.

However, the song ’39 is not seen or heard.

So will we be able to see it on the DVD or Blu-ray release? Producer Graham King told Collider: “You may…”

Bohemian Rhapsody has had great success at the box office despite lacklustre reviews.

It stars Rami Malek as the iconic Freddie Mercury, and he has recently seen his odds on winning the Oscar slashed.

Members of Queen such as May have heaped praise on his performance, which comes after his previous acclaimed work on Mr Robot.

Bohemian Rhapsody is out now.
