Bigheads season 2: Will outlandish ITV show RETURN? Presenter Jenny Powell breaks silence

The commentator has admitted that she’d be “amazed” if the broadcaster didn’t renew the crazy, Jason Manford-fronted show, which has been a breakout hit.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, the 49-year-old revealed that she knew people that had already applied, suggesting another run could soon be on the way.

“We’re all waiting,” Jenny commented. “I’d be amazed if it didn’t come back. The way things go, they wait until the series is finished [to announce more episodes].”

The mother-of-two continued: “So, your guess is as good as mine. But, of all the shows I’ve done, some I’ve thought, ‘Wow, might not do that again’, but with this I’m like, ‘Yeah I’ll be back soon.

“My sister’s friend’s already applied apparently, I’m like, ‘Are you mad?’ I’m intrigued by the next set of contestants – it’s really tough! They’d be mad not to bring it back.”

Admitting that viewers probably need a “breather” first, Jenny went on to give an insight into what the contestants go through, admitting that it’s not all plain-sailing.

“When you’re there, breathing is very hard but also the games are really physical. We were really lucky, just a few bumps and bruises, but nothing really awful,” she stated.

Jenny said that Bigheads was a “refreshing challenge” and within three weeks of being offered a role, she was in the studio filming.

She added: “I was thrown in at the deep end, but not as much as our contestants mind! I think we were all quite stunned on day one, I didn’t really see any rehearsals – I was literally in shock.

“You can hear the heavy breathing, the cursing, the slamming of bodies… it’s hard-core!”

Jenny Powell presents Ladies Lounge on Vintage TV and supplies the commentary for Bigheads on ITV1 Sundays at 7pm.
