In this evening’s episode, Tiger (played by Danny Walters) and Joey (Nathan Bryon) ended up working as promoters for a local bar.
Desperate to get punters in, Joey struck a deal with three young men, who promised they would get their friends to visit if he gave them his clothes.
Predictably, once Joey had given away his clothes, the three men ran off never to be seen again.
As they watched the scene at home, many viewers were overcome with a sudden feeling of déjà vu.
One fan asked: “Hang on #Benidorm, wasn’t this in The Inbetweeners Movie…?”
“Why is #Benidorm copying The inbetweeners movie?,” another added.
A third commented: “Stealing from the InBetweeners #Benidorm.”
While a fourth tweeted: “Pretty sure this is a scene from Inbetweeners movie? Is it not. Benidorm is so s*** #Benidorm.”
“Blatant hack from #Inbetweeners #Benidorm,” a fifth observed.
In the Inbetweeners Movie, released in 2011, while in Malia, Simon (Joe Thomas) sold his clothes to club rep James, but received no money for them.
Benidorm continues next Wednesday at 9pm on ITV.
