BBC weather: 'Such a tease!' Carol Kirkwood disappoints Louise Minchin during forecast

But as she delivered the forecast, Carol disappointed BBC Breakfast presenter Louise Minchin who called her a “tease”.

Louise asked the TV favourite if she knew why yesterday’s bizarre red sky occurred and was left frustrated with her answer.

She said: “You know about why this happened don’t you?”

Carol replied: “It’s tied in with Hurricane Opheila. She’s coming up from the south dragging in some desert sand from the Sahara but we think it’s more to do with the fires… But I’ll tell you more at quarter past 7.”

Louise wasn’t too happy with her brief answer as she joked: “Oh! You’re such a tease!”

Dan Walker added: “A meteorological tease!”

After yesterday’s destructive path of former Hurricane Opheilia, Carol said there is still a lot of strong winds today across eastern Scotland and north east England.

The popular meteorologist told viewers there could be some disruption to travel this morning as there will be gusts of 65mph.

It will still be windy in Northern Ireland to start the day but the south of England and Wales will enjoy bright spells.

North east England and parts of Scotland will get the strongest gusts, however, the ex-hurricane will begin to push away and the wind will ease after a few hours.

South west England should be braced for some heavy rain this evening which will begin to drift northwards overnight.

Northern Ireland will also see some cloud form which will produce wet weather and fog.

Tomorrow, the rain isn’t going anywhere as it remains in southern areas and begins to slowly move up north throughout the day.

But there is some good news as it won’t be as windy and temperatures will range between 10 to 18 degrees celsius.

BBC Breakfast continues weekdays at 6am on BBC One.
