BBC weather: Carol Kirkwood warns of unsettled conditions as she wows in navy dress

The popular TV star appeared fresh-faced after dazzling onlookers the previous night at a Children in Need event.

Delivering the forecast in a deep navy dress, Carol said it is a cloudy start for many today with patchy light rain and drizzle although sunny spells will develop in the north.

First thing this morning, there is some rain and drizzle around which is accompanied by patchy mist and fog.

Despite the dreary conditions, Carol revealed: “It is not particularly cold for most,  in the far south east it is a bit nippy.”

The north of the UK will enjoy clearer skies apart from northern Scotland which will see showers and blustery weather conditions.

Throughout the day, most of the cloud will clear with sunshine developing, but it will remain dull in southern England.

Temperatures on average will range between nine and eleven degrees, however, south Wales and the south west could see this rise up to 14 degrees celsius.

Tomorrow, the rain will sink down to the south and it will begin to brighten up in the north of the UK.

Temperatures will range between six to eight degrees celsius in the north while it will be a little milder in the south with temperatures reaching 14 degrees celsius.

BBC Breakfast continues weekdays at 6am on BBC One.
