The meteorologist received a warm welcome from fans as she reported this week’s weather forecast today.
Viewers took to Twitter to celebrate her return, with one writing: “Great to have the beautiful Carol on screen,” while another added: “Carol makes everything better.”
Others also complimented the presenter on her ensemble, with a third cheeky post reading: “Welcome back Carol. You’ve been missed. Really like the tight outfit today.”
While a second said: “Morning Carol, you look absolutely stunning this morning.”
During her report, she warned viewers that there could be snow this week as the cold air pushes right across the UK.
She said: “As we head into mid-week it’s going to be wet and windy particularly windy in the north, with a potential for strong winds and it is going to turn much colder with some seeing snow.”
The 55-year-old predicted fog and rain across parts of the north and west of England, adding: “There’ll be rain and gusty winds overnight… could see some patchy fog or snow.”
She also suggested travel could be disrupted as heavy wind is set to hit most of the UK.
Carol Kirkwood’s return to BBC Breakfast comes after weatherman Matt Taylor joked that she was in “hiding”.
He said: “Good morning early risers! @carolkirkwood’s still hiding under a duvet somewhere, so I have your @BBCBreakfast forecast.”
