Despite presenting from a stunning location in London and looking absolutely fabulous in a stripy monochrome jacket, Carol was met with backlash from fans who weren’t happy with the conditions.
The meteorologist told those watching the BBC Breakfast segment that it will be a mixture of sunshine and showers again today.
At 9am in northern Scotland there will be heavy showers with the temperature hitting 13 degrees celsius in Edinburgh.
North west England will also see some heavy showers whereas north east England will have a drier start to the day.
But into the south west of England, there will be one or two showers and in Wales there will be a lot of rain.
The west of Northern Ireland will also see a lot of wet weather but the east will be dry and bright.
During the course of the day, further showers will develop and some could be thundery with hail.
Temperatures will range between 16 degrees in northern Scotland to 23 degrees celsius in London today.
Overnight, the showers will begin to fade away but cloud and showers will start to arrive again in the morning.
Viewers were disappointed with the weather forecast today as one person wrote: “Where has summer gone? A miserable murky foggy day in Lanarkshire – Scotland, a joke for 1st of Aug carol its like a Nov day.”(sic)
Another said: “Not a good forecast @carolkirkwood! I’m going to be on a roof installing a wildlife habitat tomorrow! Waterproofs on!”
A third said: “The weather is canny pants. I wish you could wave your magic wand & make it better #weatherfairy.”(sic)
