BBC weather: Carol Kirkwood and Louise Minchin wear identical dress: 'It's blue Tuesday!'

Carol looked stunning in a high oval neck dress, while presenter Louise opted for a blue collared frock with buttons.

Noticing the similarities in style, Louise joked: “It’s blue Tuesday!” Before handing over to Carol.

Her co-presenter Dan Walker also picked up on the identical outfits and told Louise: “Your dress is lovely by the way and so is Carol’s.”

This morning, Carol warned travellers to be careful when making journeys as there could be a lot of untreated ice in places.

With snow falling overnight in some parts of the UK, she predicted the day will be rather cold and wet.

Across Northern Ireland there will be snow showers at lower levels, but in between there will be some brighter skies.

In Scotland there is a risk of ice and continued snow showers even at lower levels.

Parts of north east Scotland will see the driest conditions as will some areas in north east England.

However, the further to the south you move the more likely the risk of ice is, especially in northern England.

Wales will also see some snow showers, however this will mainly be in the hills and some of the heavy ones will be at lower levels.

The south east, East Anglia and parts of the Midlands are expected to be dry, but Carol warned that it won’t necessarily stay that way for long.

On Wednesday, there will still be some snow showers across Scotland, northern England and Northern Ireland but many of them will fade as the day progresses.

A storm is expected to come in from the east of the United States and as it moves across the UK it will take some of the snow with it.

Early Thursday, the strongest winds are likely to be across Northern Ireland, north west Wales and northern England.

The gusty winds will clear eventually but before that it will cause disruption for travellers.

Carol Kirkwood warned viewers: “Bare in mind disruption is possible where you are, especially with the gales and also some to the snow.”

BBC Breakfast continues tomorrow on BBC One at 6am.
