The 34-year-old Bollywood actress and singer made her Hollywood debut earlier this month in Baywatch with Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron, in which she played the villain.
While the film received terrible reviews, Chopra isn’t done with the US film industry and has her eyes set on a female superhero who could rival Wonder Woman.
Speaking with OK! Magazine, the actress admitted she wants to enter the DC Extended Universe, suggesting she could play Barbara Gordon, who fans know is also Batgirl.
In a recent interview she said: “But my dream part is, now that I’m working in America, I definitely want to do a superhero part.”
She added: “When I think of American movies, they’ve had superheroes for eons right?
“So I definitely want to play a superhero and I want to have an interesting super power. I don’t know… Batgirl would be so cool!”
The Batgirl solo movie is currently in development and will be written and directed by Joss Whedon, who helmed the first two Avengers movies.
The director recently dropped a big casting hint saying: “It’s got to be just right.”
Assuming Chopra bagged the role, it’s presumed she would share some screen time with Affleck’s Batman, with the actor at least having a cameo part.
Other actresses in the running include Lindsey Morgan and Emma Stone, while a release date isn’t likely until at least 2019.
