The host of the BBC Two show was heard asking French chef and owner at Cocorico Patisserie in Cardiff, Laurian, if he could try one of the macaroons he was making.
As Laurian explained the delectable filling of his macaroons, Angus, 61, asked: “Can you save one for me?”
Sadly, he was brutally turned down with Laurian telling him: “No, there are 36.” Angus persisted as he asked: “No, I can’t have one?”
Laurian told him with a laugh: “Maybe after.” However, Angus did not look impressed with the culinary genius: “Okay… always after. Everyone says always after and I never get one.”
The chef could only respond with a shrug as Angus looked at him in disdain at the rejection and swiftly moved on to another team.
The latest instalment of Crème de la Crème was nail-biter as judges Cherish Finden and Benoit Blin narrowed down the pastry teams in a series of tough tasks.
They were asked to make a petit gateau, creating 36 identical petite charlottes and 36 shaped macarons in just two hours.
The final challenge saw them putting their own spin on the French equivalent of the croquembouche, which is made using profiteroles and cream.
Each team had four hours and for all four it proved a challenge to keep their towering creations upright and not suffering any kitchen nightmares.
In the end, Laurian’s team as well as Stefan and Reece’s made it through to the next round of the professional baking competition, while sadly Mark’s team were sent home.
Next week the professional pastry teams will be competing for a place in the semi-finals as the contest heats up.
Bake Off: Crème de la Crème continues on BBC Two on Tuesday at 8pm.
