Bake Off backlash: Matt Lucas divides fans with ‘unnecessary’ Boris intro ‘Not funny’

Within the opening moments, the programme’s narrator gave some insight into how the show was able to go ahead.

There was much uncertainty surrounding how it would work, with it being revealed the bakers had to say goodbye to their families for the duration.

The show’s voiceover explained to viewers: “Like everyone up and down the country, the Bake Off has had to make some changes.

“To save this year’s competition, the bakers have agreed to leave their homes and move into the Bake Off bubble!”
