Contenders in 2018 do, as expected, include the likes of Darkest Hour, Three Billboards Outisde Ebbing Missouri, The Shape of Water, I Tonya, Call Me By Your Name, Get Out and Lady Bird.
British movies that have picked up more attention here than at other international awards shows include Film Stars Don’t Die In Liverpool and Paddington 2, for which Hugh Grant has received a Best Supporting Actor nod.
This morning also saw the unveiling of the 2018 BAFTAs host as Joanna Lumley, after Stephen Fry stepped down. Graham Norton and Claudia Winkleman are among the favourites.
