The 27-year-old actress is due to make her debut in the third Avengers outing next year, while her 2019 solo movie starts shooting in January.
Now the Oscar winner has spoken out on how some fans will not be pleased with her version of Captain Marvel.
Speaking with SciFi Now, she revealed: “To be fair, there are a lot of iterations of her, so there’s going to be some people there who think this isn’t right.”
On her take, Larson said: “She’s a believer in truth and justice and she is a bridge between Earth and space.”
The star added: “She’s fighting between the flaws that are within her and all this good that she wants to try and spread and make the world a better place.
“She can also fly and shoot things out of her hands. And she’s really funny!”
Some fans believe that Captain Marvel has already cameoed in Doctor Strange, after director Scott Derrickson avoided answering a question on the matter.
Meanwhile Larson has also spoken about what she sees as the great responsibility of playing Captain Marvel.
Speaking to The Sunday Times, the star said: “I feel a great responsibility.
“I want to create this symbol of strength and humour for women that I really wish I had had growing up. It feels so valuable.”
Avengers Infinity War will be released in UK cinemas on April 27, 2018, while Captain Marvel will follow on March 8, 2019.
