Marvel actor Dave Bautista has joked on Twitter that his chances of getting his own caper as the popular character must be “astronomically high” after reports emerged of DC doing a film for The Joker.
When a journalist called the move a “bad idea”, Bautista quipped: “But on the bright side! Which I usually try to look at… if this can happen then the chances of me getting a Drax movie have got to be astronomically high!
“Like so high that I’m going to stop tweeting and sit by the phone and wait for @MarvelStudios to call!
“….any second now!”
James Gunn, the man behind the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, quipped: “Just tried calling.”
It may have been a joke, but fans are keen – Bautista’s tweet has had nearly 10,000 Likes.
And Walking Dead star Khary Payton joined in: “Man, I am all-in for @DaveBautista in a #Drax stand-alone movie. It could be 90 minutes of him delivering for @ubereats! I DON’T CARE! Make it happen, @MarvelStudios!! #whyisgamora.”
Drax was responsible for many of the laugh-out-loud moments in Infinity War, and will be back in Guardians of the Galaxy 3.
But how he will appear remains to be seen: he, like many of his co-stars, appeared to be killed off at the end of Infinity War.
However with Chris Pratt – another star who was seen meeting the same demise – confirming that he’ll be in Guardians 3, many have assumed they’ll somehow “come back to life” in Avengers 4.
Avengers: Infinity War is out now.
