However Avengers Infinity War and Avengers 4 directors, the Russo Brothers, have spoke out on the matter.
Speaking with MTV’s Happy Sad Confused podcast, Anthony said: “It’s interesting, because yes, there are photos that always leak, and then there’s lots of conjecture about what those photos mean.
“Certainly there is a five-minute sequence in Civil War around a piece of technology that was laid in for a very specific reason.
“So if you go back and look at that film, you may get a hint as to a direction.”
The directors are clearly referring to Binary Augmented Retro-Framing (B.A.R.F), which appearing in the opening scenes of Captain America: Civil War.
Speaking at MIT, Tony Stark recreated the last time he saw his parents before they died in 1991.
It sounds like the supposed time travel scenes could just be B.A.R.F. recreations used to work out how defeat Thanos.
Avengers: Infinity War will be released in UK cinemas on April 27, 2018, while Avengers 4 will follow on April 26, 2019.
