Avengers Black Widow movie: 'Scarlett Johansson RECORD pay day' and release date revealed

With all the talk in Hollywood about equal pay for male and female stars, this latest news is a huge step forward.

A new report estimates Scarlett Johansson will bank an incredible $ 25million for the first solo Black Widow outing. And that’s before projected bonuses are added on.

The huge news also reveals a start date for filming and the expected big screen release date.

It’s incredibly exciting news for Marvel and superhero fans, even if the actress’ starting pay is still only half of Robert Downy Jr’s fee for the very first Iron Man movie.

A source said: “Her agents have pushed through the revenue bonus payment. If it makes over $ 900 million at the box office then she will get another $ 6 million.

“The script is being written and the hopes are to have the stand-alone film in cinemas by summer 2020.”

It is reported that Marvel thinks the Black Widow movie has the potential to eclipse the enormous success of Wonder Woman at the 2017 box office.

The whopping $ 31million payday would make Johansson the highest paid actress in Hollywod history for a single movie. It is especially remarkbale when compared with the reported $ 300,000 Gal Gadot took home for the Wonder Woman movie, although with her star in ascendant that figure is likely to rise exponentially.

Johansson is already a major star and Black Widow has been a fan favourite, starring in six Avengers movies, starting with Iron Man 2.

The actress also spoke recently about her confidence in the character’s appeal and plans for the standalone movie.

Just before the latest revealtions in the Daily Mail, Johansson told Vanity Fair: “I talked to them (Marvel) about it often. It would have to fit in the idea of where they want to go. I’m invested in that character. Marvel is greatly invested in that character.

“I think there’s a lot of opportunity to mine that story line. She’s got a really rich origins story. There’s a lot of places you can go, you can bring it back to Russia. You could explore the Widow program.”

“It could be something else. Where do the Avengers go? They are underground. What happens then? What happens after it all falls apart? There are so many ways you can go.

“I think it would just have to be very much like its own specific thing. It would have to have its own specific vibe. It would have to be totally different than any of the other standalone films.”
